Brave-to-be

The ritual restarts as I sit with my notebook
Planning my life, and focusing on the outlook

The opportunities are endless, and the challenges few
I know I can do it, when time is due

I focus on becoming the best I can
I know I am brave, and I have a plan!

Committing too soon would reduce the space
Of the possibilities I could later ace

What if it's wrong and I lose track
Of that precious life I can't get back?

Years have passed and I'm still here
Waiting for the moment that I could steal

I wonder if anything would set me free
To live the optimal life I claim to see

I sit with my notebook, and all I can see
Is a life culminating into a man who's at best, brave-to-be.
